December 22, 2008
For the last few years a few of us in the Fly Fishing Frenzy group have gone fishing on New’s Year Day. Last year was especially fun when Aaron “Chubbs” Peterson and myself went up on the Provo River and trekked through about 3 feet of snow to hit the few spots that looked good. [...]
Who said the spawn is over?
December 14, 2008
This past week I found myself reading Dr. Gillespie’s blog about all the fish he has been catching on the provo. In his post “it’s Mr Brown” he said “It’s funny how a little cold has scared all the fisherwomen away”. Well, let me backup a bit. This past week has been the craziest and [...]

November 10, 2008
Right now the Brown trout are spawning on the Provo River. Last week on Friday afternoon I went up with Dr. Gillispie and fished it for a couple hours as well as this morning for about an hour. I know I have talked about this before but the biggest thing fisherman need to watch out [...]
Provo River Caddis Hatch
July 6, 2008
The Caddis hatch starting late June and lasting through July/August is one of the best times, in my opinion, to fish the Provo. I love it because everyone will fish all day long and leave right when it gets good which leaves the river wide open. Usually you can get to the river at 8 [...]

Aaron and I went up on the Provo River Thursday May 1st and it was absolutely FREEZING!!! For the first 10 minutes we threw on some nymphs just waiting for the fish to start rising and when they started it was just crazy. There were more fish rising then I have ever seen on the [...]

I always try and fish every New Years Day. This year Aaron and I headed up on the Provo River to try our luck with the trout. We caught a few, saw some Bald Eagles and got waist deep in snow but it was a great day.
