Ashton Idaho Dam Restoration Project

Fly Fishing Idaho

Many times as anglers we don’t see the extra work that goes into the river projects.  Some of this extra work is what keeps fly fishing places like Idaho wonderful.

A great example of this work was done on the Ashton Reservoir Dam on the Henry’s Fork of the Snake River in Idaho.  As they shut off the water there were roughly 3500 – 4000 fish trapped in still water and the Fish and Game moved them to flowing water allowing them to once again be accessible to anglers.
