International Fly Fishing Film Festival comes to Utah

Pleasant Grove, UT February 20, 2012

Short and feature length films produced by professional and amateur filmmakers from all corners of the globe, showcasing the passion lifestyle and culture of fly fishing.  Fly Fishing Frenzy http://www.flyfishingfrenzy.com has announced the first official stop of the International Fly Fishing Film Festival in Orem Utah.

Fly Fishing Frenzy has teamed up the Utah Access Stream Coalition and The International Fly Fishing Film Festival to host IF4 for the first time in Utah.  The film tour has been around for a few years and has toured many US cites, but never in Utah.  The IF4 is recognized by the fly fishing community/industry and has set themselves apart as one of the most professional film tours.

The Fly Fishing Frenzy will be organizing the event with help from other local groups including Fish Gear Inc, Falcons Ledge and the Utah Fly Fishing Club.  Upon receiving permission from the IF4 to host the event in Utah The Fly Fishing Frenzy and the above mentioned groups involved decided the best idea was to donate all the money to the Utah Stream Access Coalition.

The mission of the USAC is to provide and assist in all aspects of securing and maintaining public access to Utah’s public waters and stream beads.   One of the goals of the Coalition is to restore and enforce the right of the public to access public waters as recognized and protected by the Utah Constitution, the Public Trust doctrine and long standing Utah Supreme Court jurisprudence and to seek the recognition of the public ownership of the beds of navigable waterways in the State of Utah. (http://www.utahstreamaccess.org)  Over the past few years there has been a battle over the rights of Utah waters and the USAC have been at the forefront of this issue.

The Fly Fishing Frenzy hopes to bring awareness to the issue of water rights in the State of Utah and help raise money for the Utah Stream Access Coalition through this event.  At the event there will be free fly fishing classes along with many fly fishing items to be given away and auctioned off.  Tickets for the show are $12 and can be purchased at local fly shops around the state. .

Fly Fishing Frenzy is a company that through their website provides fly fishing reviews tips, fishing reports, stories and all fly fishing gear. The Frenzy was founded back in 2001 by Aaron Peterson. Since the beginning it has grown into something amazing and In 2006 Brent Ramey started our website to help spread the stories and give everyone a chance to up load pictures and videos about their fishing outings. Bought them on line and the stop at parks allowed me an excuse to buy more tying materials, that I don’t need.
