So, I was in the land of milk and honey (Idaho) on the 5th and decided I would go weather the elements in frigid Rexburg Idaho and fish for a few minutes on Rainbow Lake. My goal was to re-affirm my faith that Rainbow Lake produces huge bows in a matter of minutes. 10 minutes later I had 1 nice fatty, wind burned cheeks, and 8 frozen digits. I looked up on weather.com and it showed temperature in Rexburg at 24 degrees, but it felt like 5 degrees. Regardless, Rainbow Lake remains a prized possession for the Fly Fishing Frenzy group to catch trophy rainbow trout, bass, and muskie. Even with the frozen digits, I got a few pics of the Lake and the beautiful bow that put up a tremendous fight.

I want to do some ice fishing on Rainbow Lake this winter. Maybe next time you go up for work Chubbs I can tag along and catch some fatties.

Nice Chubbs, I love the acrobatic tendenies of those fish in that lake. I will never forget the 20+ slimer that jumped out of the water at least five times (three feet of higher). Than still had enough strenght to break off Hancey…I love that lake…Looks like a nice cold ID day

I don’t know what fish Travis is talking about breaking my line off. I don’t think I’ve ever lost a fish have I? War Rainbow Lake!
